Nestle Delivers Sweet Earnings Surprise with 65% Profit Surge

Due to increased sales within the country and buoyant non-home consumption, Nestlé India Ltd.'s fourth-quarter profit soared year over year, trouncing industry forecasts. The calendar-year-based company that makes the iconic Maggi instant noodles had a 65% increase in net profit.

Despite operating in a difficult and highly volatile economic environment, the company saw widespread expansion in 2022.

"We delivered our highest double-digit growth in a decade, led by sustained volume and mix-led growth, leading to strong value growth," said Suresh Narayanan, chairman, and managing director, of Nestlé India. "In 2022, total sales grew by 14.5%, and domestic sales increased by 14.8%, with broad-based performance across all categories."
